Fall is the season for layering - which I love because it makes an outfit a lot more interesting. I admit that I am guilty of throwing on a warm North Face jacket and knit leggings, but I try whenever I can to think outside of the box to layer my clothes for a more chic look – and in most cases, you'll actually be warmer by putting some thought into your layering options.

I started with a basic tank (not pictured); another option would be to wear a thin cotton long sleeved t-shirt, then I added a cozy turtleneck. It wasn't freezing on this particular day, so I decided on a lightweight cargo jacket. To add even more warmth, I threw this ah-mazing blanket scarf on and belted it over the jacket to create more of an hourglass shape and interest to the outfit. I can tell you that I kept very warm, and felt a lot more chic than I would've if I had taken the 'easy' way out.

For me, layering takes a significant amount of effort, but the payoff is worth it! It's all about feeling good, right? Do you enjoy layering?
