Recently, I have been making a concerted effort to purchase clothing items that are super easy to mix and match. In many cases, this means basics. To me, basics = boring. Which is why my closet is majorly lacking simple tees, tanks, and dresses. If I'm going to buy a basic tee or another item, it needs to have a unique shape and/or a great, high quality material. Since I'm so choosy, I have been very slowly building my basics collection and I am actually really excited about it, because my go-to style is easy yet put together. That's pretty darn hard to do when you do not have a great selection of mix and match clothing items in your closet!

I love this outfit because it wasn't fussy putting it together, but it's still 'interesting' enough. I am loving the safari-chic look and the vest from Romwe, which is on sale for $18 right now (!!) paired with the open-toe booties from Missguided make it easily safari. The white bodycon dress from Forever 21 is so incredibly versatile, too. It is very sexy on its own - think date night with some sparkly earrings and strappy heels, but for this look, layering a sleeveless trench on top is daytime appropriate.
